(Scarlett would make a fine First Lady, no?)

(Scarlett would make a fine First Lady, no?)

Maybe Scarlett Johansson, pictured here at the L.A. premiere of Vicky Cristina Barcelona, shouldn’t be so defensive about her e-mails to Barack Obama.

“It seemed to me to be like a product of extreme sexism,” Johansson told AP. “I was merely trying to express my delight at Obama’s commitment to his campaign, and it was manipulated into such an unfortunate media frenzy of kind of a non-story.”

(First of all, she started it, back in January, when she made claims of being engaged to the Presidential hopeful, as well as saying that her heart had been Baracked.)

We get it. It was a joke. But here’s the kicker, Scarlett, the media is joking with you, too!

What we should be talking about is: By Scarlett making these fantastical claims that she’s engaged to Barack, etc., don’t we think this is a total trade-up from what is purported to be her real love life — an engagement to Blade: Trinity actor Ryan Reynolds?
